At Accuratech our customers typically come to us because they are unsure that their yield numbers are accurate in their food processing processes. They perhaps have no real-time overview on how their production is performing until it is way too late.

Our customers also experience an extreme complexity in production planning and order processing to meet demanding delivery deadlines. It is also possible that they do not meet the standards required during quality control audits as they are unable to show detailed traceability reports in a quick time frame.

In our minds there is no doubt that customer demands are driving this need for digitalization. Today our typical eating habits are under change, this relates to many of us working more time remotely or from home and all this is affecting the way in which we purchase our food products.

Industry 4.0

The other main driver for this digitalization journey is due to a European Union directive reflecting the 4th industrial revolution which is known as Industry 4.0. This is also known to consumers as the Internet of Things (IoT.) Today this is known to many of us as having devices which are connected directly to the internet or through another device.

In the manufacturing industries the Industrial Internet of Things, (IioT,) is just the same where devices or machines on the production floor can connect to one another to collect data and utilize this data across processes. The overall aim here is to automate decision making based on specific trends shown in the data. This means that humans may always will execute on decision making but the overall business will be more data driven.

 

SCANPLANT NG - FINAL GOODS MANAGER
FOR PALLET RESERVATIONS

 
At the outbound logistics part of any food processing factory the reservation of pallets, order picking and dispatch process is one of the most critical areas to the food processing industry as it serves as the last step before shipping to customers.

Delivering the right product, in the right quantity and on time is of crucial importance in today’s business climate. The Final Goods Manager is the ScanPlant NG module supporting the reservation of pallets and dispatch process. The module comes with pre-configures solutions reflecting best practice and is very configurable and flexible allowing to adapt to customer specific needs. This module can be combined with the ScanPlant Office manager module to create links to other processes, such as packing, order management and control of warehousing locations.

MAIN FUNCTIONS - PALLETIZING

Various palletizing options and functionalities are available:
  • Automatic reservation and palletizing by weight or count per order, inventory or packing line, or station. As boxes are created on a scale, grader or any other possible method, the boxes are automatically assigned to a pallet.
  • Manual palletizing is normally done with handheld scanners where each box label on the pallet is scanned for either for inventory handling or for order picking.
  • Pallet labels are generated with general pallet information and details on each item on the pallet when a pallet is full, an order is complete, or the pallet is closed manually.
  • Pallet labels can include customer or inventory information, such as inventory location (where to place it).
  • Real-time on-floor management with handheld Android devices or wall mounted Windows terminals.

MAIN FUNCTIONS - DISPATCH
Dispatch is the procedure for assigning units to customer orders and shipments before the physical shipment of goods takes place. Products or orders can be traced to trucks or containers to ensure traceability from the production shopfloor.

The main Dispatch features are:
  • Transporter information, such as truck or container information
  • Shipping documents
  • Real time on-floor management with handheld Android devices or wall mounted Windows terminals.

DIGITALIZATION FROM A-Z AT THISE DAIRY
During the autumn of 2023, in close cooperation with the project department at Thise dairy, Accuratech further developed a solution for operation as a "Tank truck system" this solution ensures FULL TRACEABILITY of raw materials from the Farmer for the disposition of the milk types at the main Thise dairy.
The data collection ensures an entire overview of all quantities and quality data on the milk.


In addition to traceability, all quality data is also stored in the system. Data that is already with the producer can be delivered and sent directly to the dairy. Therefore, the dairy can plan and dispose of the raw material in advance before it is registered in at the dairy.
If there is a need to mix milk types, the syestem automatically calculates which type the result will be.
Thise dairy has gone all-in on digitization with, amongst other things, the ScanPlant software solution from Accuratech for the product flow at the dairy. The entire traceability chain is known – all the way to the finished product that lands in the retail store's refrigerated counters.
In addition to submitting data to the dairy, e.g. analysis data for the tanker. Full documentation is made available to the farmer, so that proof of delivery and quality of the milk which they have delivered.
In connection with residue emptying at the farmer's, the dairy is automatically updated that the tanker is on its way. Thereby, the dairy is all ready and prepared for the reception of tanker due to arrive at the dairy.

Images of test sticks and analysis data are collected in connection with the reception of the milk, and are automatically included in traceability reports.

DATA VERIFICATION
If there is a need to correct the collected data values, the driver can make these corrections already at the tanker's facility, thus increasing the security that only factual and correct data is entered.
There is full logging of data - also on corrections, so that there is always transparency in the system and ensures correct billing for the farmer.
